Summary

This book is a children's book. This book is an informative and approachable guide for young readers to define the coronavirus, explain why daily routines have been disrupted, and outline how everyone can help. The book addresses key questions with child-appropriate answers and explanations. The explanations of the questions such as: How do you catch coronavirus and what happens if you have it, why are people so worried about it? is there a cure for the coronavirus? why are some places people normally go to close? why do we have to stay at home? what can they do to help? and what’s going to happen next? These questions become a sub-chapter of the book that will be discussed in it.

Evaluation

This book has good illustrations and writing done appropriately. Children can understand the book easily because the use of sentences in it is made as simple as possible and gives a calming impression to the reader. The fonts in the book are also not too small or too big so they are suitable for reading. This book seems to have a few pages when read by adults, but the content of this book is not as little as the reader imagines. This book is compact and concise on every page. Each page has illustrations so that children will not get bored easily because of the contents, and of course, it will be easier to understand the contents of this book. This book can also be recognized for its accuracy because one of the authors of this book, Graham Medley, is a professor of infectious disease modeling at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. There are no weaknesses in this book. This book is intended for children/ young learners because it is very well prepared. Unfortunately, the text may be difficult if it is read by children who do not really understand English so they need parental guidance to understand the book. And also, at this time many countries have declared that their country is free of coronavirus including Indonesia so there will probably be only a few people who are looking for this topic again.

Recommendation

I would recommend this book to any parent searching for a book that is easy to understand for their children. The pictures are very excellent and well-defined. In addition, the concerns that are discussed in this book are phenomena that have been experienced and can provide vigilance for the future. This book contains a piece of great information that will encourage children to be more concerned about health and cleanliness in daily life.
